The Role

Role Description

The rotation program gave me the opportunity to work on the ‘Equity-linked’ and ‘pure equity’ products desks, thereby offering me diverse job roles. At the ‘Equity-linked products’ desk, I prepared databases of target clientele, worked with pricing models and created convertible bond term sheets for clients. At the ‘Equity cash’ desk, I executed cross shareholder analyses using FactSet, prepared weekly market updates following the Bankia IPO, assisted analysts with presentations for client RFPs and worked on a Rights Issue database project.

The environment was very lively and upbeat, keeping all employees charged up. It was a perfect balance of work and fun which made it an enjoyable experience.

The internship was very well organized with all interns receiving their packs with the required information. We had access to the required drives and packages. The training sessions were very well coordinated, enabling a smooth transfer to the work desk.

In addition to a week of training which included sessions on Bloomberg, FactSet, Excel, Accounting valuations, there were various events that contributed to overall development of interns. I had division training sessions which gave me deeper understanding of the different financial products offered to clients by the division. Moreover, there were numerous networking events which enable me to build strong relationships within the Bank.

A summer internship is the perfect experience of the work life that you are looking for. It gives you the opportunity to discover the area of your interest at the Bank, while developing your interpersonal skills that will keep you in good stead in your career.
