Everybody was helpful, but they knew almost nothing about what I was doing, so they couldn't help. The only people who understood, and thus could really help, were based in America so I could only talk to them on the phone, which made it really difficult to discuss detailed technical topics.

A worrying degree of responsibility was given to me. The company was essentially taking my work and handing it over to a customer. Fortunately, when there were problems, the management were good at shielding me from the customer's wrath.
