The Role

Role Description

Generate income for services for people living with cancer by:
• Developing and implementing the fundraising strategy for Macmillan’s flagship World’s Biggest Coffee
Morning event in Edinburgh
• Planning and delivering fundraising and launch events including management of volunteers
• Helping supporters organise their own events and increase their fundraising income

Raise Macmillan’s profile and encourage people to give their support through:
• Marketing and PR for World’s Biggest Coffee Morning
• Securing media coverage for the event, sourcing supporters’ stories and case studies, writing press
releases and conducting interviews
• Arranging for local dignitaries to attend events
• Identifying and developing key relationships in the local community e.g. with businesses, groups and
individuals
• Talking about the charity to the local community and giving presentations to supporters

Give supporters the best possible experience by:
• Providing them with excellent donor care and organising donor care events
• Maintaining supporter databases including logging contact made, items sent and ensuring personal
details are up to date
• Attending their events as a Macmillan representative
• Letting them know how they make a difference
• Feeding back own ideas and suggestions based on experience
