I was mainly working with Java and XML web services. However I also worked with C#.NET and Perl during my internship.

some of my work was used in the production environment, so it was a big responsibility to ensure there were no problems. I think it's great that interns are given this kind of responsibility at MS, and it sounds quite rare as friends interning in other banks have not had such interesting work or large responsibilities.

Everyone was very busy and there was not that much talking in the London office. Apparently it's a lot louder in the New York offices...

Very well organised. The HR/grad recruitment team were great and organised a number of social/networking events for the interns, so that we could meet other interns and also managing directors of the firm.

We had one week of training in both financial and technical areas. I couldn't expect more than this as I was only interning for 10 weeks.

Yes, we went out for drinks after work a few times during my internship. There were also other opportunities to be involved in charity events, such as a 5km charity run and a dragon boat race.

I lived in the same house I live in when at university. It isn't cheap but there's plenty of things to do nearby as it is central London!

In addition to these questions, is there any extra information you would like to leave about your experiences on your work placement that other students may be interested in?

I don't have anything to compare it with, but Morgan Stanley is a great place to intern in Technology. The atmosphere is very friendly, and the work is interesting and very relevant to a Computing degree.
