- 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
-
It was very structured which was great as I was able to work to meet settargets.
- 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
-
I felt part of the team and that my contributions were appreciated.
- 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
-
My manager was supportive just very busy and it was sometimes a struggle to arrange time for us to plan our work.
- 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
-
I was busy with various tasks and my days flew past!
- 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
-
I was focused on one specific project and this was great as I was given the responsibility of coordinating most things connected to it.
- 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
-
Great experience within the charity sector and good contacts for the future.
The Organisation

-
Very busy but determination to succeed in the tasks that were being given to us all.
- 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
-
It is a national scheme so was very well planned out and support was provided at a national level as well as regional and local.
- 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
-
I was given training in public speaking and media skills but perhaps more could have been offered in the line of work I want to move into.
- 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
-
- Subsidised Canteen
- 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
-
There are opportunities which look promising.
Other Information
- 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
-
We were split between offices but when we did meet up we got on very well.
- 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
-
Average.
- 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
-
Based about 10 miles from the city centre
- 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
-
Not really, we were all so busy at work that time to socialise didn't happen.
- In addition to these questions, is there any extra information you would like to leave about your experiences on your work placement that other students may be interested in?
-
If you are looking for experience in a massive organisation and the chance to work independently on an individual project then I would recommend this placement. As everyone is busy though, don't be afraid to ask for time and support from your managers when you need it.
