Absolutely loved my time at Schroders, most definitely had one of the best summers! The organisation and size of the programme means all the interns became very close-knit, we got to know the lovely HR girls really well and my team were very supportive and always had time for me.

2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

Whilst my team had a project they needed completing, I was definitley getting more out of being there than they were getting out of me being there. But this was probabily due to the nature of my team rather than being typical across the interns. They did however organise things to keep me busy and give me more experience and were constantly talking me through various financial things - i'll definitely have a head start on technical knowledge in interviews.

For the most part I was busy with my project, towards the end when that finished I had moments of not doing a lot, but there was always something interesting going on for me to read about or listen in on.

I was given free reign to get on with my project how I wished and whilst it may not have been a difficult project, they were happy for me to do things my own way.I

I learnt so much about the financial services industry and developed my skills on Excel a lot. They also taught me about softer skills such as networking.

We had 2 days of training from and external firm which was reasonably thorough and my team were constantly teaching me throughout.

Very different to student nightlife, but a lot of fun.

We couldn't get involved with any of the company activities like sports and suchlike, but the interns did enough outside of work together for it not to matter.

A great internship, in a great company, in a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.
