The Role

I commenced the placement working as a Management Trainee where I was given various projects to lead and partake in. The projects allowed me to develop a range of skills. Having spent 6 months as a Management Trainee, I was promoted to a Section Manager where I was responsible for leading a team of 40+ partners alongside other managers.
The two roles greatly varied in what I was required to deliver, however the skills acquired and developed were invaluable and fundamental to my success.

There was a great sense of a community atmosphere. Everybody was really welcoming and friendly

There was a great balance of working and training.

I was given projects to lead from my third day and became a Section Manager within 6 months.
- 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

The work placement has allowed me to develop a wide range of skills and has given me the opportunity to experience what working in retail and as a manager is like. The skills I have learnt will be invaluable to my future career.
