The Role
- Role Description
Aswell as being a sales assistant I mostly did stoke intake and Deliveries, With sales assistant I'd be either on the tills or hanging clothes up on railings or helping customers, being in the stock department I'd be Checking all deliveries arrived when meant to, I'd sort them into the right sections while someone write up the file work ready for when they needed to be in the actual store.
- 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

I enjoyed stock intake better as i got to make the displays going up and I love being creative store was really good to there was a few wonderful regulars who always made me giggle, It was a real fun but good place to be
- 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

slightly They were really nice always making cuppa's lol but yeah they were friendly and looked after me
- 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

I thought it was amazing especially when they said i could work with the displays and stock as they knew i wanted too
- 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

I love being busy so it was a good thing having lots of things to do, I probably would of got bored if i was just in store generally because i prefer being busy
- 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

Loads woop! haha i got to what i wanted to do and did most of the displays which was really good
- 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

With doing stock intake i learned loads where everything goes how everything works ect it will be something i keep with me

i had so much fun with learning new things talking to colleagues aswell as customers was fun

there was so many things i could of down and did do i really enjoyed it

I had so much training just so i could learn more and had booklets
- 10. What were the perks on your work placement?

very appealing to be honest, It was a really nice job/placement

- 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

i loved the social side as being in stock i could just talk have fun while doing the work i needed to
- 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

I thought i was rather cheap which is always a good thing
- 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?

Nightlife was great especially with my colleagues we always had a laugh
- 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?

I got to go in the delivery van a few times while they went to other stores which i found enjoyable
- In addition to these questions, is there any extra information you would like to leave about your experiences on your work placement that other students may be interested in?

It's defiantly a good job for students my work there was great i would of stayed longer if i could
