    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • It helped quite a lot since I got to learn about all the different departments and their functions, and they also talked about graduate schemes and internships. We learned from recent graduates about their daily work and how they like it. Especially during lunch break you got to talk to other employees in an informal way and learn more about their roles.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • There is a maximum of 50 pounds that the company will reimburse you for but you can ask for a bigger amount if you have a valid reason. I got 100 pounds since I had to drive to London from Scotland. They send you an expense form before the Insight Day which you can bring with you on the day together with receipts

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were a lot of opportunities for meeting other employees, especially during breaks and at Q&A sessions after the presentations. During lunch break, a large number of employees joined us from various different departments to talk about their experiences and they were, again, very approachable. After presentations there was also always time for questions.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Students were seated on tables of about 9 people and after every presentation we were asked to move to another table in order to get to know new people. There were also case studies we had to finish in groups. During breaks we had the opportunity to talk to fellow students as well as employees.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • They briefly touched on this matter but did not elaborate on it

    3/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • It was a very informative day during which I learned a lot about the culture and the roles at Willis Towers Watson. I got to meet interesting people from the company itself and from other universities. We also did case studies and other practical work so it was quite an interactive day
