The Role

Role Description

Servicing incoming trades and maintaining coupon payments. Using Swift to make payments to counterparties and send out claims to counterparties who owed monies. Taking part in a project with RBC Sydney, which involved sending them a spreadsheet of all our current open positions. Taking part in corporate actions involving the conversion of bonds from 144A to REGs, which also made up much of the internship.

1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
★★★★★★★★☆☆

Rated 8/10

I learnt so much from my placement and although I was specifically on the fixed income, corporate actions desk I managed to gain an overview of the entire bank and how it worked. Mainly because of the lunch and learn sessions that were coordinated between HR and all of the different divisions within RBC. My specific desk placement was very engaging and enjoyable, my team were helpful right from the offset and I feel that I made a positive impact.
