The Role
It was an interesting insight into what the company does and what a broker has to deal with day to day and was enjoyable.
I didn't feel as though I was needed however most people were willing to talk to you if they were not busy.
I wasn't really given much guidance by my management.
I wasn't really very busy as I was not really able to do anything due to my lack of qualifications in the area.
I wasn't really given a great deal of responsibility on my placement.
I don't think any of the skills I learnt will assist me in my degree, however I did learn some business skills that may help me in later life.
The Company
The atmosphere was busy however there was a lot of banter between colleagues from time to time.
The internship was very well set up, the interviews etc. were well organised and the induction we had was good and they organised what desks we were going to be put on very well.
I wouldnt say any training was invested in me however it wasnt really expected.
I think the business looked like it would be very rewarding to work for and that it would be an attractive challenge.
The Culture
All of the interns socialised often and we regularly went out for drinks/meals after work.
It was london so it was fairly expensive in places but that is to be expected. However there are places where the price of things is pretty much the same as anywhere else.
Its london, enough said really.
On occasion we socialised with some of the permanent members of staff after work which was good. Apart from this however if you wanted to do any activities you would probably have to organise it yourself.
