  • They provided us with a lot of information throughout the Talent Academy as well as providing all meals and hotel, as well as many PwC endorsed products such as a jumper and water bottle. • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • There were countless opportunities to network with PwC employees and ask numerous questions about working for the firm on a day to day basis. The partner meal also gave us an opportunity to ask questions of employees higher up within the business. The course also provided helpful talks and session during the days to understand who PwC were and what they do on a day to day basis in each role.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was reimbursed my full expenses train and taxi from home to the conference facility very promptly and quickly after the event after filling out a claims form online. I was also provided with an extra night at the hotel as i had a long journey which would have resulted in a ridiculously early start on the first day of the Talent Academy.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • All the talks were conducted by employees of the firm who had real experience within the field and they were happy to answer any question we had about working at PwC. On the second night we also had a meal with a number of Partners within the firm which also allowed us to ask any questions we wanted to more senior level employees who often conduct graduate interviews.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking specific event was the partner meal on the first night which was very informative. The meal gave you a long period of time in which to talk to the partners and other employees about their experiences. The staff switched between tables often which meant you had a chance to talk to a wide range of people all in different departments and roles.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Aspects outside of work was slightly limited as most of the course was focused on the working environment, specific departments and how to apply for a future role in these positions. The outside of work aspect although sometimes alluded to in question to the employees, was not something they directly addressed.

    3/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would definitely recommend this to anybody who wishes to pursue a career within PwC or indeed within the financial services sector more generally. It provided great insight into the different areas of PwC operation as well as how to apply and enroll in different programmes offered by the company and in my case led to an offer for the second year internship.
