I sat in the Real Estate department for three weeks. Having been taught how to use most of the IT systems at the start of the placement and with Real Estate being quite a practical (rather than academic legal) practice I was able to get stuck in to much of the routine office work. In particular I wrote many letters to clients or other solicitors, I filled out many complex applications forms to the Land Registry or Companies House and I drafted some basic licences.
