The Role
- Role Description
Rented Cars
Learned to Manage a Branch
Sales
Customer Service
Public Relations- 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
-
Great Learning experience in all fronts. I was not treated like an intern who would only do busy work, but rather treated as a member of the team and contributed to the profability and likeability of the company as a whole.
- 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
-
Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. I would hangout with my colleagues after work. I will always be friends with them.
- 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
-
I was given guidance all the way through. Sometimes everythign was just too busy for me to have a question answered immediately, but it was always answered.
- 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
-
I don't know how to rank this question because I would not say that I was bored, ever. It was very busy sometimes, sometimes overwhelmingly busy, but other times it was just perfect. Either way, I enjoyed everyday.
- 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
-
I was given as much responsibility as any other employee. I was treated as part of the team and contributed as much as the team.
- 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
-
I learned so many different things, but the most valuable thign I learned was how to serve customers properly. And by properly, I mean friendly, calm, clear, and helpful. I learned how to communicate well with any type of person, and communicating well with people is an essential skill for life.
The Organisation
- 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
-
My office was always upbeat and flowing. Whenever someone looked down or was frustrated, everyone else on the team would brighten that person up.
- 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
-
Everything was organized great. I learned somethign new everyday and never became stressed for not knowing somethign because I always would get it down by the end of the day.
- 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
-
They company made sure that I was well educated in the business I was going to be doing and checked up on me constantly to make sure I was feelign like I was on track and if I had any questions.
- 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
-
- Company Car
- Company Parties/Events
- 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
-
I feel like I could come out of University and work for them in a heartbeat.
Other Information
- 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
-
I went out plenty of times with my colleagues after work or on the weekends to dinners and fun places.
- 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
-
Well I am probably in a different category than the rest of people because I was living with my Aunt so I didnt have to pay for living, however, Surrey and London are both pretty expensive places.
- 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
-
Surrey itself did not have that much night life, but it took 30 minutes train to get to London. In London, there is no better nightlife than anywhere else I've ever been.
- 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
-
I did not really look for that many activities outside of work because I was travelling or writing or just enjoying the time off work. But, I can imagine that there are many activities a person could find easily.
- In addition to these questions, is there any extra information you would like to leave about your experiences on your work placement that other students may be interested in?
-
If you want to be part of a big company and feel like you are a huge contribution to a company's success, if you want to learn how to communicate better and learn how to manage a business, and if you would liek to learn some life lessons and some great morals... Enterprise is the Company for you.
