To be eligible for our 12 Month work placement you must be a university student who has a placement year option as part of their degree programme.

We run an exciting 12 month placement. Informal training, and work on projects that add true value to the business. The placement scheme is a great place to start a career with Cummins and you will experience not only the skills and work aspect, but the culture and core values of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading small projects or initiatives from inception to completion.
  • Support and Improve processes in terms of process flow mapping, data collection and analysis, testing and problem solving.
  • Analysis of business and user needs with documentation of requirements.
  • Helping to identify & design business and IT solutions.
  • Involved in Cross functional / Cross Business Unit / Global initiatives.
  • Supporting projects with project management methodology and tasks.
  • Support Change controls within our methodologies.
  • Support Business / IT Compliance and Internal Controls.
  • Provide team coordination, administration and operational support.
  • Contribute and develop as part of a Global IT team.
  • Contribute to the development of business flows both existing and new. Working alongside key business stakeholders to ensure the IT processes or applications are standardise and fully documented.
  • Expedite, escalate and resolve open help desk tickets- support issues efficiently with the support of CBS and CES Global IT team.
  • Support and assist with Production System projects.
  • Support and assist with upcoming Office IT Infrastructure projects coordinating with CBS IT and the LAN team where applicable.
  • Support infrastructure for remote sites such as Netherlands, by working alongside CBS support team and escalating tickets where necessary.
  • Support ongoing projects and initiatives such as Mobile Supply Chain Implementation Project (MSCA), Maximo Project roll out, mmaintaining existing business / IT systems.
  • Support future CES IT Projects and Initiatives where required.
  • Participate in community responsibility and charity initiatives.

Training provided:

  • Student/ Graduate development training course provided on site.
  • A comprehensive induction programme as well as role specific training
  • Individual training to suit particular business skills required by the business or identified by the candidate.
  • The opportunity to develop your skills both personally and professionally through regular reviews with your line manager, identifying and supporting any areas which require further development.

Skills and experience required:

  • Working towards a 2:1 in an IT or Business related degree with a strong interest in IT.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills required.
  • Effective verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to learn, analyse, and understand business and technical processes.
  • Must be a team player with ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects at one time.
  • General IT proficiency and understanding.
