We have a number of year-long placement opportunities that will give you the chance to get stuck into major projects in your area of expertise. And to see how we are leading the way in providing more sustainable energy for our future, and a better deal for our customers. You'll make important contacts. You'll learn a huge amount about the energy industry. And you’ll have the opportunity to fast-track onto one of our graduate schemes.

When you go back to your final year of uni, you'll have some great business experience - and a real advantage in your future career.

Engineering

Our Engineering undergraduate scheme will help you put theory into practice. It’s a hands-on experience that will see you tackling real-life engineering challenges at our Ratcliffe-on-Soar power plant in Nottingham. Joining one of our specialist teams there, you’ll experience first hand what it takes to generate the power we deliver to our customers.

We have a number of roles that span mechanical, electrical, and control & instrumentation engineering – and you’ll initially be assigned to a team according to your discipline. Whether you join our boiler, turbine, materials handling or maintenance teams, you’ll have a hands on role. It’s a great opportunity to get a solid year’s experience in a fast-moving and complex environment.

What we’re looking for

You'll need to be expecting at least a 2:1 (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering. You should have sharp analytical skills, a focus on delivery, and the ability to work well with others. You’ll also need to be ready and eager to get stuck into front-line engineering challenges.
