Who we are looking for

We are seeking an enthusiastic computer science, systems engineering or related technical degree student who is able to show initiative, ability and a wish to understand the Opsview business. The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of JavaScript, and will relish the opportunity to work with the latest technology. The successful applicant will join a small but rapidly growing software development team to assist with the design and build of new features in our Opsview product suite.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with using Linux/UNIX at the command line
  • Some experience of using JavaScript in either an hobbyist or enterprise environment
  • Experience with using Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable using at least one programming language, such as C, C++, Python, Perl or Javascript
  • Good written and verbal English

Desired Skills:

  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking
  • Use and configuration of Apache and MySQL
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies for software development
  • Experience with a version control system such as subversion, CVS or git

You must be a high energy self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision and comfortable working within a framework of objectives without the need for day to day guidance and direction.

A genuine desire to help create and participate in developing our company, culture and future success will be a pre-requisite along with a passion for IT.
