The Role

To manage French Africa Trading territories under the lead of the Business Development Manager focusing:

  • To develop customer relationships with our key customers in these markets.
  • To assist and provide inputs into presentations preparation such as range reviews and performance.
  • To evaluate new market opportunities with existing customers.
  • To assist and ensure reliable and timely sales reporting between UBI and customers.
  • To support and work with Business Development Manager to establish a product range, pricing, promotional activity (if required) in key markets and develop an ongoing in market support plan to deliver budget.
  • To monitor competitive activities in these markets and report to BDM on a monthly basis.
  • Complete weekly sales tracker.
  • To ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the ordering/forecasting/ supply procedures for the whole UBI range for these markets.
  • To analyse ongoing customers in-market sales out (if available)

Context

  • The Regional Sales Intern role is to operate under the Business Development Manager direction (Hayes based) with specific responsibility for French Africa Trading markets.
  • One key objective is to continue to grow the relationship with our key customers so that they see UBI as a serious partner who is willing to grow with their businesses and markets.
  • The role will require internal liaison with other parts of UBI / Supply Chain / BN Team / Factories in France.
  • The role will require some domestic travelling to BN factory in France (occasionally).

Key Relationships

Internal

  • Managing Director - periodically to update on performance
  • Business Development: as required to review an ongoing business and implementation of plans.
  • Customer service as required for order tracking
  • Logistics personnel
  • Supply chain periodic reviews to update forecasts

Decision making authority: Day to day – weekly/monthly plans to be developed and agreed with Business Development Manager.

Qualification: Student (university, vocational)

Language: Fluent French and ability to translate into English, effortlessly

Skills and Knowledge

  • Basic arithmetic’s /Mathematics
  • Negotiations skills
  • Administration/Financial skills
  • Essential to be proficient on Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Essential to have good level of literacy in French

You must have a strong academic background, with a minimum predicted grade of a 2:1 (60% or international equivalent) and a minimum 240 UCAS points.
 

  • You must be able to demonstrate teamwork, drive for results and leadership potential. 
  • You will need to be able to communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
