One Year Drug Safety Systems and Operations Student Placement

The Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance Department (MDSP) undertake all activities relating to the detection, assessment and understanding of adverse drug reactions (side effects) relating to marketed and investigational products. This department is also responsible for the implementation of appropriate measures to minimise drug safety risks for patients.

In this role, you will be providing comprehensive support to the Drug Safety Systems and Operations team, with a focus on system based projects.

The main areas of responsibility are:-

  • Support of all systems critical to Drug Safety Operations and those that are managed within the Drug Safety Systems team
  • Assisting with migration of data within SharePoint
  • Assisting with the set up and management of an electronic document storage system
  • Assisting with testing and validation of upgrades and updates made to existing systems

Specific duties & responsibilities:

  • To participate in the various new IT projects planned by MDSP working with customers within MDSP or external parties as required
  • Assist with the creation of new processes within the operations team, based on changes to, or creation of new systems
  • Assist with set up of electronic document storage system
  • Assist with migration of data within systems
  • Assist with testing and validation of updates to or upgrades of existing systems
  • Data input of product specific information
  • Create and review department SOPs as required
  • Ensure that data managed or provided by the Department is validated and to a high standard.

Requirements:-

We are seeking an individual who is currently studying for an IT or Business Systems related degree and looking for a one year work placement. The position would suit an applicant who enjoys working in an operational environment, working with both technical and operational aspects within a Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance team, understands the importance of confidential data and has strong attention to detail and good communication skills. Previous experience of working in an office environment is desirable.
