If your passions lie in HR, a placement with us can open up a world of opportunity to you. We own, manage and develop Britain’s railway – that’s 20,000 miles of track, 40,000 bridges and viaducts, and thousands of signals and level crossings. But there’s more to our organisation than infrastructure alone.

We’re one of the UK’s biggest land and property owners – and its largest provider of commercial business space for SMEs. We have 600,000sq ft of retail space. Our own app store. A dedicated recycling centre. And some of the most advanced technology in the country. But, to shape a railway that performs better than ever, we need our 34,000 people to be highly engaged, fully skilled, safe and compliant. It takes special talent to make that happen.

Our dedicated Human Resources team provides support on all people-related issues to help us overcome any challenge and make sure we employ and retain the very best people.

Your development

During your placement, you’ll work as part of a team, taking on real responsibility from day one, while developing core business skills. You’ll learn through on-the-job experiences and training programmes at our leadership development centre. If you do well, you could also secure a place on one of our graduate schemes.

Our requirements

• You'll need to have achieved a 2:2 (or equivalent) during your first year and be on course to achieve the same in your second year
• Drive, passion and the desire to learn are all important, and you’ll need to be available in September 2015 for a minimum of 48 weeks
• For our HR placements, you can apply regardless of your degree discipline, however we're particularly keen to hear from candidates who have studied HR or Business Management
