Marie Chappelow (1970-2014) started her career in the media industry immediately after graduating in European Languages from John Moore University in Liverpool. She joined HIT Entertainment in 2000 and spent the majority of her professional years helping to build Thomas & Friends, Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam into the internationally successful brands they are today, as well as contributing to HIT Entertainment’s growth into the most influential independent children’s TV company of its time. She believed passionately in the importance of quality Children’s television.

Global Brand Management Internship

This is an opportunity to become a key member of the Global Brand Management team of a newly reorganised company with ambitions of becoming the world’s leading pre-school entertainment company.

Purpose:

The successful Global Brands Intern will provide support on various exciting projects across world-class pre-school brands, primarily Bob the Builder, Thomas & Friends and Fireman Sam, also supporting the wider Global Brands team where required. This is an excellent opportunity to help assist in the roll-out and implementation of brand strategies, liaising across all lines of business and regions worldwide to ensure integrated efforts, success and growth for the brands worldwide.

Duties:

  • Coordination of global brand campaign initiatives providing support and regional HiT/Fisher-Price marketing teams where necessary
  • Assist in the coordination of global brand campaigns and toolkits
  • Assist in the coordination of EMEA brand marketing campaigns for other brands e.g. Fireman Sam where required
  • Approval of all brand collateral, ensuring guidelines are adhered to, showcasing the brands in best way possible
  • Liaise with HiT/Fisher-Price regional marketing teams and stakeholders to gather and collate information about brand activations globally – ensuring a continual flow of communication between all teams
  • Maintain engaging brand presentations and sales materials for the internal sales teams to help gain support for the core brands
  • Coordination of brand assets and materials for trade show events alongside content distribution and licensing teams
  • Collate information from key stakeholders for project briefs and managing timelines ensuring deadlines are met
  • Developing creative briefs and critical paths ensuring input from key stakeholders and delivering clear and concise feedback in a timely manner
  • Ensure that internal colleagues, partners and licensees have the appropriate assets to produce first class work
  • Support and assistance to the Global Brands team including raising of purchase orders, updating PO trackers, filing of all necessary documentation/materials on shared team drives and organisation of meetings and rooms where necessary

Experience/qualifications:

  • BA/BS (4-Year College/University Degree in Marketing and/or Business)
  • Knowledge and genuine interest in the media/entertainment sector
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team Player
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills with an ability to multi-task under pressure
  • Ability to be proactive
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently
  • Previous work experience in an office environment desirable but not essential
