About Balloon Kenya

You+ 100s of Kenyan entrepreneurs working this summer to create businesses that change lives.

Balloon Kenya is an award winning social enterprise working to defeat poverty through entrepreneurship. We team up passionate young people from around the world with budding Kenyan entrepreneurs to work together for 6 weeks, launching sustainable new businesses that tackle local problems and change lives.

We are building a team of exceptional young innovators to join us in Kenya in 2015 to work with more than 500 young Kenyans and invest £30,000 in 100 new businesses.

This is a remarkable opportunity for anyone wanting to develop outstanding entrepreneurial skills, get hands on start-up and consultancy experience, manage an international development project, and above all, embark on a life changing journey.

We believe our generation can lead change. Join us.

What will I be doing?

LEARN: Balloon Kenya recruits young people (Enterprise Fellows) from across the world to complete an intensive week-long programme in enterprise and innovation. This course will give you the skills to start a business in any country and is now recognised for excellence and taught at many universities in the UK.

SHARE: Fellows then work for 5 weeks with budding Kenyan entrepreneurs, leading classes and supporting entrepreneurs to develop and test exciting new business ideas. This will include everything from prototyping and customer interviews, building marketing strategies, forming key partnerships, creating brands and making sales

PITCH: On the last weekend the Kenyan entrepreneurs present their business ideas to our Microfinance Fund and we invest in the best ideas. So far we’ve invested £60,000 in Kenyan businesses.
