This placement provides students with the unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience as part of the team that oversees PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, 1st party and 3rd party software.

During your year you will be given the responsibility to take on a real job where you will make decisions to take the business forward. You will be involved across all aspects of the marketing function including campaign management, promotional planning, event management, digital marketing and marketing research.

The year will be challenging but it will be an amazing experience to work with the biggest gaming brand that will provide hands-on practical experience for your future education and career.

This individual will want to be involved in the bigger picture and is keen to develop their skills. A strong academic record is required with the individual being on track for at least a 2:1.

The PR Assistant role at PlayStation UK involves supporting the Press Office functions of the business, including:

• Fielding and assisting media enquiries
• Tracking and collating daily coverage
• Compiling coverage reports for UK and European HQs
• Stock management of hardware and software for PR use
• Disseminating assets and press releases
• Overseeing and managing the press mailing database and managing the distribution of software to media prior to launch
• Assisting at PlayStation events, including overseeing interviews with execs, developers and talent.
• Working with the external PR agency and product placement agency on various projects.

Skills and Personal Qualities

• Great organisation skills
• An eye for detail
• A people person
• A diplomat - some requests can be more challenging to handle than others and so require a firm and professional manner
• Seeking first opening in PR, video games/entertainment business
• Gaming credentials would be a real asset, but are not a pre-requisite
