This placement provides students with the unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience as part of the team that oversees PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, 1st party and 3rd party software.

During your year you will be given the responsibility to take on a real job where you will make decisions to take the business forward. You will be involved across all aspects of the marketing function including campaign management, promotional planning, event management, digital marketing and marketing research.

The year will be challenging but it will be an amazing experience to work with the biggest gaming brand that will provide hands-on practical experience for your future education and career.

This individual will want to be involved in the bigger picture and is keen to develop their skills. We want this individual to start as a Product Marketing Assistant but to leave with the skills of a Product Marketing Manager.

A strong academic record is required with the individual being on track for at least a 2:1.

Key Responsibilites

  • Assist in planning and supporting key marketing activities by working with key internal and external partners and agencies
  • Assist in briefing and executing campaigns across TV, Cinema, VOD, Print. Online including the sign off and approval stages
  • Liaising with departments across the company
  • Proof reading materials and copy writing
  • Preparation of marketing materials – presentations, marketing briefs etc
  • To own and manage specific campaign projects if proven responsible
  • Support the team in the maintenance and obtaining of assets
  • Support the team in the ordering of samples and loan units for events
  • Collating hardware and software code for events and provide support for code installs where required
  • Support event campaign development
  • Budget responsibility

  • Enthusiasm for the role, self-motivated and independence to work alone
  • Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, a proactive can do attitude is essential
  • Planning and organisation
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Adobe Photoshop experience preferred but not required
  • Requirements
  • Enrolled on a university programme that allows you to do a 12 month industrial placement year or approved gap year from an undergraduate course
  • Studying for a business or marketing degree
  • A strong interest in gaming and a willingness to learn about the business

Skills and Personal Qualities

  • Great organisation skills
  • An eye for detail
  • A people person
  • A diplomat - some requests can be more challenging to handle than others and so require a firm and professional manner
  • Seeking first opening in PR, video games/entertainment business
  • Gaming credentials would be a real asset, but are not a pre-requisite
