Avis is a leading rental car supplier that primarily serves the premium commercial and leisure segments of the travel industry. Budget is a leading rental car supplier competing within value-conscious segments of the industry.

The Role

The International Partnerships team is responsible for winning and managing partnership accounts through which we sell Avis and Budget car rental. Our partnership accounts include major international airlines, hotel groups, train operators, credit cards and loyalty companies. We manage account relationships, and actively push Avis and Budget car rental through these partnership channels using the full sales and marketing mix, in order to deliver maximum rental volume and revenue on a global basis.

Our one year placement would be a very exciting role for anyone wishing to develop a career within a Marketing or Commercial discipline as it encompasses a wide variety of different responsibilities. The role will provide the successful candidate an opportunity to improve on a number of different skill sets such as; customer, client and internal communication, event planning, copywriting, training and presentation skills, developing artwork within brand guidelines, e-commerce and market research skills.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work internally across many different departments but will also gain exposure to some of our major partnership accounts including British Airways, Eurostar and American Express.

With this, you will be responsible for providing support to account managers across multiple partnerships. In return, you will be provided with the opportunity to shadow on client meetings and be given invaluable account management experience.

Responsibilities include

  • Daily management of partner microsites - content management system and HTML training will be provided
  • Ownership of the Heathrow Terminal 5 Priority Rental Service email inbox, managing BA Gold Exec club queries and reservations
  • Developing and managing team communications across the EMEA region
  • Competitor intelligence data collection and distribution alongside market research into key industry trends
  • Use of Adobe software to create artwork to support partnership marketing campaigns
  • Ad Hoc projects as required

Strong organisation and communication skills are imperative to fulfil the requirements of this role. You must be confident and hard-working individual, with a ‘go the extra mile’ attitude.

The successful candidate will be working towards a degree in a Marketing or Business discipline. It is important to have sound technical / ecommerce understanding, whilst good Powerpoint, Excel and Photoshop skills are desirable.

The huge variety of work and the unusual level of responsibility that accompanies this role will offer the successful candidate a real insight into the global travel industry, with broad commercial awareness.
