Grocery Volume Analyst Placement

A role in sales will give a candidate the opportunity to become empowered as the person who interacts with all elements of the business in order to negotiate and deliver the profitable opportunities for the customer and Danone.

A sales position will give you autonomy to build and deliver commercial plans whilst being supported by experienced commercial line management. A great opportunity to build a wealth of business knowledge and key transferable skills in commercial acumen, presentation and internal and external influencing skills that will give you an excellent base for any cross functional role in the future. The sales functions span from customer account management in managing customers, through category management in educating customers on range and also incorporates a number of other interesting roles like trade marketing which is responsible for delivering branded execution in store.

Your Mission

  • Build strong cross functional relationships across Danone but with particular focus on the Account teams, Demand Planning & PRGM team
  • Deliver an exceptional forecasting process and fortnightly sales process to ensure delivery of performance vs target
  • Contribute to an efficient MARS and BPR process
  • Responsible for bringing clarity to account level forecasting by working with the Demand Planning team & account team to analyse, track and align on forecasts for promotions and base lines
  • Aid the business in tracking and providing clarity on the movement of volume across different time periods
  • Run & build analysis which will enable clear understanding of what account team forecasts are for year to go vs target for all formats
  • Run analysis of promotional activity with Demand Planning team
  • Track movement of account Risks & Opps month on month for BPRs -> % likelihood, what has gone in/not
  • Find methodology to track account risks & opps clearly month on month for BPRs
  • Highlight opportunities to grow the top line and make recommendations to improve the return from our promotions
  • Clarify discrepancies & volume movements in Bi Monthly Sales call for mid- month and first call. From this, provide one pager for Controllers to be used for fortnightly sales analysis
  • Find efficiencies, highlight opportunities & make reco’s on ways of working and reporting

Additional Requirements

Education:

  • Graduate Calibre (ideally 2:1)

Professional Background:

  • FMCG sales experience preferred
  • Strong Excel & Powerpoint skills
  • Experience of building internal partnerships
  • Good analytical ability, able to interpret data and add insight and relevance to data
  • Solid commercial understanding, ability to recognize the impact of initiatives and decisions made
  • Must be fluent in English – written and spoken
