About E.ON

E.ON is one of the world’s largest power and gas companies. We provide electricity and gas to 40 million customers – over five million of them here in the UK. It’s incredibly complex work. Yet our vision is a simple one: we want to be the trusted energy partner for our customers.

We have a number of year-long placement opportunities that will give you the chance to get stuck into major projects in your area of expertise. And to see how we are leading the way in providing more sustainable energy for our future, and a better deal for our customers. You'll make important contacts. You'll learn a huge amount about the energy industry. And you could even find yourself fast-tracked onto one of our graduate schemes.

When you go back to your final year of uni, you'll have some great business experience - and a real advantage in your future career.

Energy Policy Development Placement

Energy is constantly in the news and in this role you’ll have a great opportunity to help us develop E.ON’s thinking on key energy policy issues. You’ll help us track the external position by analysing documents and contributing to responses to Government and Ofgem consultation documents. You’ll be responsible for reporting back to the wider E.ON UK business, ensuring the company as a whole knows what’s happening in energy policy and what E.ON’s viewpoint is. Furthermore, you’ll help us to analyse the impact on our business. With your key stakeholders being Government departments, this role is a great opportunity to get right to the heart of energy, understand the wider environment we operate in and play a role in shaping the future of the industry.

What We're Looking For

You'll be working towards any graduate level degree, with a keen interest in energy markets or policy more generally. You’ll have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal, along with excellent commercial, analytical and IT skills. If you have an open mind and are quick to respond to change, taking everything in your stride, this could be the right placement for you.

Our undergraduate placements close at the end of February 2015. However, to avoid disappointment, we strongly advise you to apply well in advance of this date.
