Diabetes is the fastest growing health threat in the UK. Diabetes UK is the leading UK charity that cares for, connects with and campaigns on behalf of people affected by, and at risk of, diabetes.

The is a fantastic opportunity for someone to gets hands on experience working within a busy in-house events team, contributing to two key projects within the charity.

Our Know Your Risk Roadshow visits over 76 cities and towns across the UK each year raising awareness of the risk factors associated with developing Type 2 diabetes and encouraging people to make lifestyle and behaviour changes to reduce their risk. Working in partnership with Tesco (66) and Royal Mail (10).

Following successful pilot events, Living with Diabetes Days launched in September 2014. The one day conferences are designed to provide information and support to people newly diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes as part of the on-going partnership with Tesco. Over the next two years we will be delivering 76 events across the UK.

The Events Assistant will specifically be responsible for researching and booking appropriate venues for both event projects, assisting with event marketing, registration and communication journeys and external agencies. In addition they will assist the wider management of logistics at events throughout the year.

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, willingness to learn and passion for events. They will have excellent communication and organisational skills and a keen eye for detail. With a positive and flexible approach to work, they will work well within the team and with others across the organisation.
