Responsibilities

This role is a great opportunity to gain business perspective from within a Corporate group (i.e. responsible for supporting all Business Units) and to liaise with, and learn about multiple functions within a business.

The candidate will be given an opportunity to apply theory to real business issues and make a positive contribution to the success of the Corporate Indirect Purchasing department and its customers. They will be given as much responsibility that they demonstrate they are capable of handling, this will include managing their own projects and supporting Sourcing Managers with their projects.

The candidate will be working under the guidance of the Sourcing Analyst, however they will support all Indirect Purchasing team members, and as a result there is potential for them to become involved in projects that focus on the different categories in Indirect Purchasing, for example Supply Chain, IT, Corporate and MRO (Maintenance Repair and Operating supplies).

One of Cummins core values is Corporate Responsibility and the candidate will therefore also be required to work with their peers to periodically organise community related events, e.g. charity and fundraising events.

  • Review and Approve internal purchase requisitions.
  • Collect and report data from our Ariba internal ordering system and present the Spend Analysis.
  • Arrange quarterly and present Ariba Workshop to sites via Webex, and occasionally at the Business Units.
  • Administer and lead Catalogue Strategy.
  • Report monthly UK and European Catalogue Analysis.
  • Administer our Diversity Improvement Project.
  • Create and Renew Invoice Against Contracts.
  • Supporting MRO Team (Maintenance Repairs and Operations) projects.
  • Charity responsibilities – assisting Community Involvement Team with charity and fundraising activities.

Training provided

  • A comprehensive induction programme as well as role specific training.
  • Individual training to suit particular business skills required by the business or identified by the candidate.

Qualifications

Skills and experience required:

Education:

  • Studying for an undergraduate degree in a business related discipline or a European language degree (written and verbal English are mandatory).

Skills:

  • Must have a good knowledge of Microsoft excel, Word and Powerpoint.
  • Attention to detail and good organisation skills.
  • Ability to understand data and problem solve and think innovatively
  • Excellent use of IT skills and use Outlook mail and calendar.
  • Owning catalogue and diversity process for EME region and identifying improvements in current process.
  • Well developed communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Partnering within department and also within other functions.
  • Conducting presentations at team meetings and via tele-conference.
  • Presenting overview of a project they have led in the student bursary to the panel.
