Public Sector Audit Summer Internship

The summer internship program is a chance for you to discover more about Grant Thornton and get a taster for what it means to work here as a graduate trainee. Within the public sector audit team, you will be able to gain experience on real projects for real clients. This is a great opportunity to make the most of your penultimate university summer; developing new skills, learning more about commercial and public issues and ensuring your CV stands out from the competition when you graduate.

We are still recruiting for internship roles in the following offices:

- Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, London, Gatwick

What you'll be doing

You will work as part of the Public Sector Audit team, either working on the office or onsite with clients.

You will be expected to:

  • assist in the completion of an audit.
  • assist with accounts preparation for a client.
  • help the team with project work.
  • work shadow people from different disciplines within the firm to understand the challenges and complexities of being a business advisor at Grant Thornton.

Education and qualifications

Strong academics essential. As well as academic success we're looking for interesting candidates who can show that they've done some great things within their personal and professional lives too. We're looking for well-rounded candidates who connect with our brand, values and culture and want to make a difference right from the start.

Other interesting information

Internships will last from four to eight weeks. Those that have performed well throughout the internship will be offered a graduate trainee position, starting the following year. It's a great way to fast track your career and secure that all important graduate position before returning to university.
