What’s more, if your performance during the 12-month Internship Programme is really exceptional, you could return to University with a firm job offer ready for when you graduate, meaning we’ll provide you with sponsorship payments of £500 per term for your final year.

Internship Programme Induction

As a 12 month intern you will go through a three-day residential induction that offers training on a range of key business and personal skills to help you settle into your internship quickly, and ensure that you get the most out of your time with Atos. The aim of the programme is to successfully introduce you to the working environment in Atos. The programme prepares you to adopt a professional and proactive mind-set and to equip you with the behaviours and skills needed to communicate effectively with your managers, peers and customers. The induction will be with all other interns, so it also has the added benefit in enabling you to start building your internal network from the start.

Technical Schemes

We have a range of opportunities for twelve-month technical placements. During your time with us you will gain valuable exposure to key technologies and enjoy the variety of working across our full range of clients and market sectors. You’ll have the chance to develop your expertise on live projects.

If you have a passion for technology, our technical placements are an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills in a busy commercial environment, meaning that when you start your career you can really hit the ground running.

Technical Project Management

The Transition & Transformation Team deliver a number of technology focussed projects to Atos customers. In this role, you will support the team in managing project delivery as well as managing stakeholders within the account team and other internal Atos areas. Not only will you gain key Project Management skills whilst helping to deliver tooling solutions to UK customers, but you will also have experience and exposure to the delivery of tooling projects, such as the deployment of a Software Asset Management tool, and services within a large Managed Services organisation.

Software Development

Developing valuable skills in both technology and business, your team may work closely with clients to understand their requirements and answer queries, or focus purely on complex technical challenges. You will gain exposure to the full breadth of technologies and methods employed in solutions and services delivered by Atos.

You could be joining any one of the following software development teams:

IT Strategy & Transformation

IS&T is the home for more than 80 of the most senior engineers in Atos. You will have the opportunity to support on projects which provide enterprise and solution architecture services for major customer bids and delivery programmes across all the markets that Atos serves, covering all aspects of business technology: infrastructure, applications and data architecture; enterprise architecture assurance and fire-fighting; Information Services and IT strategy; and engagement with customers at the highest levels of their business.

Enterprise Process Integration

In the EPI Practice, the team are engaged on projects to deliver bespoke software applications. A pool of over 300 people, it is grouped into several domains which specialise in different areas of the software development lifecycle: Requirements & Analysis, Software Architecture, Design & Development, and Environments Management. The projects you might support on, could be across any industry and vary in length depending on the scope. You could find yourself undertaking Java / Microsoft .NET build and test work. Or you might work with our application specialists, undertaking analysis of requirements, preparing test scripts and tracking defects to ensure the application being delivered is fit for purpose and go-live.

Mobility and e-Transactional Services

Retail is a key part of the rail industry leading to many new initiatives and therefore more and more challenges from demanding customers, including contactless payment, smartcards, web marketing. This is a significantly expanding development area, where you will have the opportunity to use modern but proven technology in challenging environments. Over this period you will have the opportunity for exposure to a variety of activities ranging from coding, system testing, business analysis and support.

Infrastructure – Cloud

Atos has been instrumental in establishing cloud architectures in the public arena. In this team, you will have the opportunity to support the delivery of projects, establishing and maintaining the correct structures to control and monitor the deliverables to the business. You will gain great experience in this team, whose work involves actively engaging with stakeholders while working in line with the business case to ensure that realistic estimates of costs, timescales and resource requirements are agreed, monitoring progress against these criteria, and taking corrective action as necessary.

Business Intelligence and Information Management

Everybody’s talking about Big Data. As an intern in this area, you will enjoy working with the next generation of business intelligence, data management, analytics and enterprise content management environments, using existing and emerging technologies. You’ll work with experienced and talented consultants in the delivery of solutions used both in-house and by household name clients.
