Product Review Engineer Placement

This position is part of the on-site C-17 Field Services Engineering and Technical Support (FETS) team supporting the Royal Air Force customer at RAF Brize Norton UK for the C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Use engineering principles to assess and resolve aircraft operational and maintenance faults and issues
  • Perform root cause analyses and research technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customer and design interim and final engineering solutions
  • Analyze reported problems for potential safety issues
  • Develop and sustain customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, system schematics, wiring diagrams and maintenance manuals to assist the RAF customer and Boeing colleagues

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Studying for BSc or MSc Engineering – Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Collaboration - Works effectively and cooperatively with others; establishes and maintains good working relationships.
  • Customer Focus - Makes customers and their needs a primary focus of one's actions; develops and sustains productive customer relationships.
  • Analysis and Corrective Action - Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action of non-conformances to reduce scrap, minimize rework, reduce cost and improve quality to meet all requirements.
  • Engineering Processes - Knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various Engineering departments/disciplines (e.g., design, test, software, technology, avionics). Knowledge of the interaction between departments/disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-engineering processes (e.g., Operations, Logistics, Business).
  • Liaison Engineering Judgment - Exercise engineering judgment in developing appropriate decisions considering decision criteria, implications, and possible consequences, to ensure product design integrity. Demonstrate understanding of the applicable scientific and engineering knowledge and involves others in obtaining information for the liaison engineering decision-making process.
