Primary Function of Position

Working on over 30 major film studio releases in 38 markets across Europe, Middle East and Africa, the intern will assist in all aspects of publicity and public relations ensuring that we maximise the potential of each film release.

The role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to develop a thorough understanding and experience of publicity campaigns for major Hollywood film releases.

Job Responsibilities

Support the SVP Publicity, Executive Director of Publicity and Publicity Manager with the following:

  • Assisting in the co-ordination and organisation of publicity events such as Press Conferences, TV interviews, Set Visits and Premieres
  • Preparing comprehensive lists of the journalists attending film junkets
  • Coordinating hotel accommodation for travelling international journalists
  • Daily communication with the European offices, distributing publicity memos, requesting information and collecting responses
  • Assisting with media promotions and publicity road-show events such as costume and prop tours, photo exhibitions
  • Helping with implementation of digital publicity activities
  • Requesting, collating and distributing publicity reports, information and feedback from the European offices to senior team members e.g. screening plans
  • Assisting with various publicity queries from European offices
  • Searching film websites and newspapers for pertinent film information and sharing with the team
  • Attending publicity and marketing meetings
  • General admin tasks including organizing travel and completing expense reports

Skills/Abilities Required

  • Accurate typing skills and excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of Microsoft Outlook email programme and using the internet for research purposes.
  • Publicity, Marketing or Business undergraduate preferred.
  • Should have solid GSCE and A-level results, or equivalent.
  • Must be extremely well-organised and disciplined with the ability to prioritise workload and use time effectively.
  • Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, dedicated and able to work under intense pressure with limited supervision.
  • Must be analytical and pay close attention to detail.
  • Must have a positive attitude, a calm demeanour and a good telephone manner.
  • Must be able to communicate with people of all levels in a professional and mature manner.
  • Previous work experience and a demonstrable interest in films, events and publicity.
  • Basic knowledge of other key European markets and awareness of cultural and commercial differences.
  • Additional foreign language an advantage, but not essential.
