Food internship

It’s where we first began and it remains the most important part of what we offer customers every day.

Within Food, our team aim to serve Britain’s shoppers a little better every day by making great quality food accessible to our customer’s every day!

We cover everything from working with local producers through to global sourcing. Every day offers a different challenge as we focus on our shared passion on offering fantastic quality, innovation and value for money.

The way our customers shop is changing so we have structured our Food teams to ensure we can lead the way in the new world of multichannel retailing. Our teams of experts work to ensure our customers get exactly what they want.

Where will I be working?

You could be a Buyer, sourcing and buying great quality products for our customers at the best price; or a Customer expert, using insight to drive our overall strategy for Food.

Alternatively you could join our team of Commodity and Packaging experts, helping our business and our suppliers to manage commodity risk.

If Agriculture is your passion, you could join our team of Agriculture experts, working with our farmers to strengthen our partnerships and ensure our products are meeting standards right from the source.

What will I be doing?

From promoting our wines to developing, testing and launching a new milkshake, there's plenty to get stuck into. And things move lightning fast. We waste no time sourcing and developing own-branded products, buying from leading brands, and analysing the results. So you get to do a bit of everything.

You could get involved in defining what we sell, where we get it from and at what price. You’ll start to see how even the smallest decision affects our stores, our suppliers and our business as a whole. We do our best to improve prices for our customers by working in ever-closer partnership with suppliers and growers.

While you spend your summer immersed in all this, we help you get to know your strengths. We give you leadership training, send you on development days and provide a great support network – you get a buddy, a mentor, and a director as your sponsor.
