Primary purpose of the job

Reporting to Director, Television Research, EMEA. Working closely with the London Marketing team and European based marketing and sales executives. To support Director, Television Research in his day-to-day duties, analyzing television ratings data and translating it into sales and marketing friendly information. Also assisting London based Marketing team where need be.

Essential job functions

  • Prepare, compile and produce with little supervision daily, monthly and ad-hoc television ratings reports on various European markets, based on overnight ratings information as well as performance information obtained from a pan-regional software application.
  • Manage and maintains database of Overnight rating records, International Box Office results and other research information.
  • Analyze television schedules for the major European territories for Warner Bros. TV and competitive product launches as well as local developments, using local listings magazines and other information sources.
  • Support Director, Television Research in researching, writing and compiling presentations/reports/pitches to assist European sales and marketing teams with specific projects
  • Support Director, Television Research with specific proprietary research projects as needs be.
  • Assist Director, Television Research by providing other Warner Bros and Time Warner divisions with Television related information upon request and approval.
  • Assist other members of London Marketing team with occasional projects and where need be.

Required qualifications

  • Interest in the business side of the Media/Television industry (NOT production).
  • Interest in television programming (including US produced shows), scheduling and audience research.
  • Willingness to learn about Television audience measurement systems, Television ratings, the interpretation of such data as well as proprietary software applications.
  • Good numeric skills and at least basic understanding of statistics.
  • Good computer skills; Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word as well as at least basics in Microsoft PowerPoint; Familiarity with the internet and ideally some knowledge with the use of FTP software and HTML code.
  • Good common sense and investigative nature.
  • Fluency in English, ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  • Studying for a BA/BSC in related field (including business, marketing, media, communications, film/TV).
  • European languages a great plus (ideally Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Polish, Hungarian or Russian).
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace environment.
  • Must have a flexible approach to work with the ability to work with little supervision.
