Software Developer Industrial Placement

Are you looking to develop your skills in a hands-on, technically-challenging role where you’ll get real work experience?

We’ve been running placement schemes for years and believe that your placement year should be the foundation on which you build your career after completing your degree. We offer a wide range of opportunities in the form of hands-on learning and practical experience that our current and former placement students have found invaluable.

Our placement students always make a vital contribution to the success of our business during their placement year, and you’ll be encouraged to get stuck in as soon as you start. You’ll learn about our products and bespoke solutions and develop knowledge of the latest technologies, coding languages and methodologies that are an integral part of our state-of-the-art and innovative technology.

Working on customer and internal projects in an agile development environment, during your Software Developer placement you’ll be involved in the design and development of high quality, commercially focused business applications, systems and system extensions; experiencing the full product life cycle.

You’ll be working with the following technologies, and so will need to have knowledge of:

• OO Principles
• Java/JEE or C#/C++
• Agile development

It’s a bonus if you have some work experience from a year out or holiday work, but in all cases we’ll be looking for people with a passion for our technology and the hunger to learn. Of equal importance to your technical knowledge are your communication and problem solving skills, ability to work in a team and your focus on achieving results.
