About the programme
As RBS continues to evolve and grow, Internal Audit is becoming increasingly important. It provides our key stakeholders, executive management, Board and regulators with assurance that we’re working to build a better future. As an intern, you’ll experience stages from across the audit life cycle. Our Internal Audit team doesn’t just focus on the integrity of our finances, it also works to make sure our controls and our systems are functioning as they should. You’ll play an integral role in the whole process, supporting the development of the audit plan, completing audits, producing recommendations and reporting back to the business.
As part of your induction, you’ll be given a thorough introduction to the world of finance. This will be accompanied with training that’ll prepare you to take on a reasonable amount of responsibility in your business area. Working on live business assignments from day one will help you become a competent project manager and presenter. Your calendar will be full of meetings and social events, giving you a chance to improve your communication and networking skills. Plus, we’ll hold charity fundraising challenges, so you can develop your team-work skills while you socialise with other interns. And at the end of your 10 weeks, we hope you’ll understand and appreciate the importance of Internal Audit, and recognise how you could fit into it.
About you
As a penultimate-year student, you’ll need to be a fast learner with strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail. Your degree subject doesn’t matter – we’re more interested in your curious mind, fresh ideas and genuine enthusiasm for our industry. If you can add to all that a strong academic record and the motivation to make a success of your time with us, that’ll be a plus too.
