What are my responsibilities?

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the role will be within the Technical and Fleet Performance team and after a period of training and induction you will cover the following areas:

  • Application of engineering principles to solving problems, and offering improvements to the service offered by Siemens
  • Working as part of the Technical team, taking responsibility for the safety, reliability and performance of any of the systems allocated to the role
  • Produce technical reports from investigation in to problems and opportunities
  • Review and propose updates for the VMI procedures, ensuring Siemens Mobility specs meet OEM requirements and all necessary tools, equipment and materials are available to accomplish the tasks
  • Assist with the provision of technical support at incidents on and off Depot
  • Develop rolling modifications and upgrades required to improve performance and reliability
  • Liaise with the central Engineering team, and Procurement team as required to deliver business requirements.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • You must be studying towards a BEng in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or similar engineer discipline
  • Good knowledge of IT systems and software
  • Good communication skills
  • Good planning/organisational skills

What else do I need to know?

This role will involve a large focus on Health and Safety and a key aspect of the work will be to ensure products or projects are delivered in accordance with Siemens safety and quality/testing procedures and meet all applicable legislation, safety/customer standards and project requirements.
