About E.ON

E.ON is one of the world’s largest power and gas companies. We provide electricity and gas to 40 million customers – over five million of them here in the UK. It’s incredibly complex work. Yet our vision is a simple one: we want to be the trusted energy partner for our customers.

About the role

In this role, you'll help to support the inspection activities that keep our power production operations running smoothly. We might be designing cameras that can enter boiler room pipework, or investigating offshore wind farms. Whatever your project, you'll be working with technical experts and stakeholders to develop and implement the very best inspection services. And you'll learn about 'non-destructive testing', which is carried out for the wider E.ON Group.

To join us, you should be working towards a degree in Physics or Mechanical Engineering. You'll be office-based mainly, but you'll be able to work in different environments if needed (including heights, or hot boiler rooms). Good IT literacy is important (experience of AutoCAD would be particularly useful). And we'll be looking for strong report-writing skills - at the end of your placement, you'll write a report that explains what you worked on. In return, you'll get valuable technical training - including health and safety training - and your own senior mentor.
