About Seashell Trust

We’re a charity based near Manchester and dedicated to providing a creative, happy and secure environment for children and young adults with complex and severe learning disabilities. Across our school, college and residential care homes, and through the work we do beyond our own facilities, we deliver programmes of care that are individually tailored, promote independence and help build confidence and self-esteem in the children and adults we work with.

The Role

Do you want to work in an extremely rewarding environment, using your marketing knowledge and skills to best effect, supporting key marketing campaigns including social media and events to support learner recruitment and the delivery of specialist consultancy services? If you do then we’d love to hear from you.

Our Marketing and Sales Placement offers you the chance to work within a challenging and supportive environment, make a real contribution within an area of significant development and get a real sense of the day-to-day challenges facing an award winning school, college and residential campus.

We are looking for a high achiever who has achieved at least grade B at GCSE level in English and Maths, is on track for a 2.1 in a sales/marketing/business related degree and combines a real passion for working within a charitable organisation with a genuine interest in people and the natural ability to communicate well at all levels.
Our sales and marketing work is undergoing significant growth and development to support an ambitious 10 year strategic plan. Seashell Trust would benefit from an equally ambitious and dynamic student, with a can-do attitude, a propensity for sales and new social media who wants responsibility and who is keen to learn.

The role will involve working closely with our admissions, fundraising and development teams to support the delivery of our sales and marketing plan.

The sales and marketing plan is high profile and its successful delivery is critical to the future development of Seashell Trust. The successful candidate will need to be diligent, focussed and hard working. They will need confidence when working in unfamiliar company, with excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

You will be fully exposed to our sales, marketing and fundraising delivery. Your responsibilities would cover a combination of the following:

Supporting the Admissions, Development and Fundraising teams with the delivery and subsequent follow up of sales and marketing activities and promotional campaigns for a variety of customer groups.

Maintaining the Charity’s contacts database, inputting all new contact details and ensuring that information held on the database is current.

Supporting the updating and maintenance of the Charity’s website and social media presence, including Facebook and Twitter as key communication tools

Supporting the production of publications and other promotional materials, writing copy for different audience groups and proof reading, to ensure quality and accurate information and effectively communicate the Charity’s offer to different customer groups.

Salary

The internship is a voluntary placement and therefore unpaid though travel and lunch expenses will be reimbursed.
