We are looking for a dynamic and talented engineer to join our team at GE O&G Flow and Process Technologies in Skelmersdale, UK. Working within the Manufacturing Engineering team. This is a 12 month internship starting as soon as possible. Reporting into the Materials Manager you will be responsible for improving and/or developing global supply chain processes and to improve product quality by using lean and 6 sigma approach and effectively working in a cross-functional environment.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Analysis of existing processes and execution of improvements
  • Root cause analysis
  • Production line re-structuring
  • Project planning and execution
  • Support of daily production
  • Improve ergonomics
  • Improve/develop processes
  • Learn and apply lean tools
  • Document processes
Knowledge & Requirements
  • Has or currently are pursuing a degree in accredited Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of application of statistical tools
  • Confident at programming in excel, access and managing or developing databases/macros
  • Demonstrated time management capability
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment or independently on multiple projects with strict completion deadlines.
  • Good writing skills, accuracy and an eye for detail are essential, as well as the ability to work to a tight deadline
