Consolidated Valves, Skelmersdale, UK are the regional centre for the order management, manufacturing and technical support for Consolidated product. The team is currently undergoing the process of transferring standard and fast track products to the LCC's and the regional AMC. The future focus will be on both supporting the needs of the customers in the region whilst growing the "projects" market for more specialised higher technology products.

We are looking for a dynamic and talented engineer to join our team at GE O&G Flow and Process Technologies in Skelmersdale, UK. Working within the Product Engineering you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of projects to support the growth of our business. The Product Engineering Intern is a 12 month internship starting as soon as possible. Reporting into the Product Engineering Manager your will be responsible for improving and/or develop the processes associated with the product component database and Bills of Materials (BOMS) creation. To contribute towards the increasing the self-sufficiency of the regional, and the formalisation and documentation of the processes and procedures required for this development.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Review and documentation of existing processes and execution of improvements.
  • Collect, collate and analysis of Bills of Materials errors.
  • Develop and document new processes and procedures that will allow satellite operation for Bills of Materials creation and cleansing
  • Support of daily production for engineering Bills of Materials problems
  • Learn product characteristics to allow assessment of key component compatibility prior to Bills of Materials release.
  • Provide daily to off-site teams and channel partners on engineering Bills of Materials issues
Knowledge & Requirements
  • The candidate must be enrolled as a student or completed an Industrial/ Mechanical engineering degree.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is essential
  • Good overall capability in using of Microsoft Office" package, particularly Excel.
  • Demonstrated time management capability
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment or independently on multiple projects with strict completion deadlines.
  • Good writing skills, accuracy and an eye for detail are essential, as well as the ability to work to a tight deadline.
