What you can expect

This twelve-month Industrial Placement within the Business Services Department at BASF plc - based at Cheadle Cheshire, 20 minutes from Manchester City centre is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable insight into the dynamic business environment of a global company. The role includes working as part of a European team of Regional Market Development and
Business Support professionals. Responsibilities could include market research, market analysis, monitoring and assessing macro-economic data in addition to business support activities. There will be participation in relevant meetings, including corporate events where appropriate. Managing independent short and long-term projects in support of business needs, meeting deadlines and communicating to stakeholders will be critical. This is an excellent opportunity to develop personal and professional skills that will be transferable into any business environment.

What we expect

You will be working towards a business related degree, with emphasis on Market Analysis, Economics or Business Finance. Beyond this, you will be skilled in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint as well as being proficient with other IT Systems. You will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, with a keen eye for detail. An ability to self-manage will be required as you will be working alone and as part of a team.
