We are looking for

Talented individuals to undertake a 12-month paid work placement as part of our business placement program to work in Quality starting early September 2014.

About the placement

The Quality organisation works closely with our Product Development and Manufacturing skill teams who are committed to continuously improving our products.   Your placement with Ford will lead to a development in your understanding of how ‘Quality’ is delivered in a technology driven, global business.  You will be working with both programme and engineering teams to drive the application of quality at every stage of the design, development and manufacturing processes. This will provide an unrivalled understanding of how a global engineering business delivers class leading, customer-focused products to a global marketplace.

Typical intern responsibilities might include

Ford Car

  • Translating customer requirements into design content and quality targets for new Powertrain or Vehicle Programmes
  • Learning the key quality metrics used to define customer expectations as well as define vehicle Quality performance in the field
  • Application of standard Quality tools to ensure the product development process delivers a customer focused product which meets defined performance and durability targets
  • Application of data analysis and problem solving tools to help improve designs in the development process or from field concerns
  • Overall management of programs to ensure key Quality deliverables are met
