We are looking for

Talented individuals to undertake a 12-month paid work placement as part of our business placement program to work in Product Development starting early September 2014.

About the placements

Product Development (PD) is part of a global organisation which designs, tests and releases for production all components and assemblies that make up Powertrains and vehicles for use and sale worldwide. PD will provide you with the opportunity to contribute across our global organisation.

Your placement with Ford will enhance your understanding of how a successful global organisation works. Using cutting-edge technology and techniques for communication and engineering as part of your daily business as well as understanding how Ford utilises its global team to enhance its business. You will have the opportunity to take on real responsibility, work as an active member in cross functional teams, liaise with people at all levels of the business and global colleagues by contributing to international projects and work streams.

Typical intern responsibilities might include

Ford Car

  • Design of components and systems to meet engineering and commercial specifications/targets
  • Investigation of non-conformance to specification/target or other technical issues, root cause analysis of issues and the identification of interim and/or permanent corrective actions to meet program requirements
  • Component, system and full vehicle evaluation testing and analysis against global emissions and durability performance requirements
  • The overall management of programs to ensure key deliverables are met
