About You

We are looking for a talented and dedicated individual to join our Finance team. Successful candidates will:

  • Be studying for an Honours degree in Accounting, Finance or related commercially orientated degree
  • Have strong excel skills and a knowledge of Profit & Loss and Balance sheet statement would be beneficial
  • Have very good interpersonal & communciation skills as a lot of non face to face communciation in job role.
  • Be outgoing, confident and resilient.
  • Be organised with strong prioritising and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task
  • Have a flexible and proactive approach to work
About the role:

We have two positions available within the Finance Department – Sales Ledger Intern & Bank Intern.

Sales Ledger

To collate & post the daily centre banking sheets and reconcile the transactions with funds received in the bank. Assisting & supporting the Group Credit controller with day-to-day tasks.

Core Specific Responsibilities:

Responsible for 5 Retail Centre’s daily banking:

  • Daily processing of the Centre cash sheets
  • Liasing with centre personnel to resolve any banking issues
  • Printing and filing of daily banking summaries
  • Reconciliation of the daily PDQ payments into the bank with the centre cash sheets.
  • Preparation and processing of twice weekly bank journal upload
  • Archiving all centre banking files at the end of the month
Supporting the Sales Ledger:
  • Download & update of all centres weekly vehicle, parts & service debtor reports
  • Preparing daily cheques received for the bank & posting to the relevant account.
  • Sending out monthly debtor statements
  • Dealing with adhoc customer & centre’s telephone queries
  • Documenting & implementing process improvements with Credit controller
Supporting the Management Accountant:
  • Assistance with the preparation of the Quarterly Vat Return
  • Preparation and submission of European Commission sales list

Bank Intern

To be responsible for maintaining the PRG Bank Accounts, and Assisting & supporting the Management Accounts Team with their daily & monthly tasks.

Core Specific Responsibilities:
Cashier Position:
  • Morning update & periodic checks of 7 bank accounts throughout the day
  • Daily printing of bank statements
  • Advise centre personnel of incoming customer funds on a timely basis
  • Responsible for all bank statement entries being posted to Purchase/Sales & nominal ledgers on a daily & monthly basis
  • Input & processing of daily telegraphic transfers
  • Weekly & monthly reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Advise Barclays of stopped cheques as & when required
Supporting the Purchase Ledger
  • Weekly processing of Road Fund License costs
  • Financial support for Porsche Design Great Britian
Adhoc tasks
  • Monthly analysis of fuel spend
  • Monthly Legal, Business entertaining & Goodwill expense analysis for tax purposes
  • Monthly preparation & submission of Intrastat for PRG & PDGB

Requirements:

At least 2 years in a finance related study. Good with excel. Very good interpersonal and communication skills as a lot of non face to face communication in the job role.
