Are you inquisitive, analytical and driven with an interest in global trade?

The EY Global Trade Team work within EY’s EMEIA Tax Centre. This Summer Internship Programme offers students invaluable experience in a global professional services firm and will provide a unique insight into the world of international trade. We identify and solve the most complex supply chain challenges for clients across the UK and internationally. Working in the EY Global Trade Team can be the gateway to a fascinating career.

What will my day be like in the EY Global Trade Team?

From the very first day of the internship programme, you will be encouraged to think of yourself as a consultant rather than a student. We will provide you with world-class training, and you’ll be given the opportunity to help deliver client projects, conduct research into industry trends, and help your team develop our growing business.

The role: Customs and Exports

You will work with our customs and export controls teams on a number of client and business development projects. You will therefore need to be a good team player, but also to act on your own initiative and to demonstrate the ambition to become a future business leader. There are internship opportunities in three UK locations; London (customs), Birmingham (customs and export controls) and Leeds (customs), but there may be travel in the UK or abroad if required.

Academic Requirements

We are looking for second year undergraduates or above and postgraduate students who are currently studying or have recently completed studies in related subjects to global trade such as International/European Law, International Business Law, European Politics, International Security, Anti-Terrorism and Non-Proliferation, and International Relations.

Candidates must also have the following:

  • Grade B or above for GCSE Mathematics and English (or equivalent qualifications); and
  • Grade B or above in three relevant A-Level subjects (excluding General Studies); and
  • 2.1 degree or above for graduates, or a 2.1 or above overall average in already completed modules for those that are still studying.

Please note: in exceptional circumstances we will accept applications from candidates who do not meet our academic requirements. If this is your case, you will need to provide strong justification for why we should consider your application. You will also need to provide documentary evidence of any mitigating circumstances.
