Key Responsibilities

At Cummins Power Generation we recognise that having experience of the working world during your university degree provides a key insight to the practical application of your learning. We run an exciting 12 month placement where you are given an opportunity to work in a role and on real projects, making a difference in both your team and the company as a whole.

You will constantly be facing new challenges, given new opportunities, be involved in Six Sigma projects and required to learn new skills. Role Specific Responsibilities

A wide range of Placement positions are available among others in Global Engineering, Service Engineering, Marketing, Human Resources, Business administration, Project Management, Finance, Sales, Information Technology.

Training Provided

  • Cummins standard training for new employees and Formal Business Skills Training (eg MS Office, Lotus notes).
  • On the job training will be provided in terms of systems methodologies, systems analysis and development. (May include IT Project Management, Oracle database design & development, use of PL/SQL & SQL, ITIL, SDLC).
  • Basic training will be provided in 6 Sigma methodologies, with an opportunity to participate in 6 Sigma projects.
  • Opportunity for delivering presentations, with presentation skills being one of the key components of the student training programme.
  • The opportunity to develop your skills both personally and professionally through regular reviews with your line manager, identifying and supporting any areas which require further development.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Ability to learn, analyse, and understand business and technical processes
  • Engineering, Business Studies/Management, Sales/Marketing or any IT/business related degree
  • Must be a team player with ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects at one time
  • General IT proficiency and understanding
  • Problem solving
