Our global team of more than 1,000 dedicated fraud, investigation and dispute professionals help clients deal with complex issues of fraud, regulatory compliance and business disputes. We help manage legal risk and protect company value.

We help our clients develop strategies to pre-empt, manage and resolve the risks of business conflict. We also assist in investigating alleged misconduct, fraud and non-compliance with regulation.

What will my day be like in Fraud Investigations & Dispute Services?

Our Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services (FIDS) team has a number of posts across the UK for students who are looking for a 12-month industrial placement. Our FIDS professionals provide clients with three core forensic services:

  • Special Investigations: investigating fraud and other financial activities, including tracing and recovering assets and helping clients develop or monitor anti-corruption programmes;
  • Dispute Advisory: supporting the resolution of litigation and other commercial disputes and competition enquiries;
  • Transaction Dispute Advisory: offering accounting advice in completion accounts disputes and warranty claims.

On joining the team you’ll work on client assignments in all three areas and may also be involved in IT forensic investigations. Other projects you may work on include: researching companies, industries or individuals using internet tools and publicly available information; marketing research; and business development projects.

What training and development will I receive during my placement?

Our industrial placement enables you to get a feel for what life is like here, increase your business understanding and improve assorted professional and personal abilities. From day one, you’ll be working on real client projects and involved in a variety of work across a range of sectors. You'll receive a full induction into the firm and regular professional skills training. You'll also be assigned a counsellor on day one.

What opportunities will Fraud Investigations & Dispute Services open up?

If you are seeking a career in accountancy, law or a general business environment, this placement is an excellent introduction to any of these areas. You'll gain an invaluable foundation across the whole service and in assorted industries.
When you've finished this placement, graduate positions in other EY business units are available. We'll invite successful candidates to an interview for a place with their desired business.

What are my options when I apply?

We have opportunities in London, Birmingham, Leeds or Manchester. You must be studying for a degree that requires you to undertake a 12-month industrial placement.

Entry Requirements

  • Grade B or above for GCSE Mathematics and English Language (or equivalent);
  • At least 300 UCAS points (excluding General Studies and re-sits);
  • A predicted 2:1 honours degree in any discipline.
