About The Placement

Based at our George Home Office in Leicestershire, the placement programme has been designed to give the successful candidates an insight into garment construction and production. Working in an Assistant role within an experienced team, you will combine "on the department" training with classroom training through our Garment Academy.

Responsibilities Will Include

  • To guarantee 100% accuracy of technical information, measurements, fitting and essential ticketing information for the design pack.
  • To ensure right product is issued to the right supplier who will be best to deliver the product (pre selection).
  • To ensure that the designs, that are created, are within the parameters of our cost structure (pre selection).
  • To establish the correct sizing and fit by working with the designer.
  • To follow the technical manual to ensure the quality standards, outlined, are achieved.
  • To be aware of new technical developments and to work with the technologist and designer to implement where necessary.
  • To develop an excellent working partnership and understanding with our George colleagues, suppliers and global supply base.

The Ideal Candidate Will Be Able To Demonstrate The Following Skills

  • Studying a garment, textile or fashion related degree
  • An excellent team player with good communication skills
  • Strong organisation & administration skills and the ability to problem solve
  • Proactive and innovative forward thinker
  • Excellent understanding of the George customer
  • Ability to manage time and work loads with strong commercial acumen
  • Attention to detail with strong numerical, planning and analytical skills
  • Strong IT skills with intermediate ability with Microsoft office
